The Story of the Spirit

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth; but which the Holy Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1 Corinthians 2:13-14

Who are you....and why are you here?

Have you ever pondered these questions? What is the purpose for your life and is there more to your life than how you are presently living it? If you didn't come up with a meaningful answer that aligns with the Word of God, then perhaps there is something amiss. We learn in God's Word that He has a plan for our lives, a destiny, to fulfill for His Kingdom's purpose. In believing this, the obvious question becomes are we seeking to know what God has for us? Are we desirous to live our life as our heavenly Father intended? To answer yet another question, we first must want to know the answer and be willing to accept our role and responsibility in God's Kingdom. It is a conscious effort to learn what our Father expects and desire the many gifts (tools) He gives to equip us to accomplish His plan.

You are a spirit being living in a physical body made in the image of God. Whether you acknowledge this fact of your existence is completely up to you and is demonstrated by the evidence of a free will. You get to choose between living a wordly life influenced by man and orchestrated through emotions; or accept that God is your King, your Father, and wants you to be with Him. We are automatically born prodigal children into captivity of sin with a sinful nature and must make a conscious decision to return home to the Kingdom of Heaven, or stay adrift.

Adam and Eve were spirit beings with a carnal (flesh) body. They had no realization of their differences until sin entered and carnality became their norm. Through their disobedience, all mankind thereafter took the mark of sin. There is only One who can cleanse the sin from each of us and that is Jesus Christ. There is only one reason to do so and that is that every person may be reunited to the Father. It is a returning to the Garden of Eden as it once was before sin; a returning to the origin of who you truly are, a spirit person made in the likeness of your Creator.

With the gift of a free will, God allows each of us to make this decision. However, once we choose and desire to live as a spirit person it changes the course of our life though we remain within an existing body (like Adam and Eve). We get to live a spirit-filled life governed by the principles of the Kingdom, and in doing so, reap all the benefits, rewards, blessings, and power that comes with being born in Christ into the spirit world. We now have access through the authority given in Christ to make our requests be known and they shall be fulfilled. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12

You can have the exact same relationship Adam and Eve had in the garden right now and it continues on into eternity. You don't have to wait until you pass from this natural life to enter into the spirit realm and live with Christ and the Father. In your birth in Christ, you are automatically born to your spirit self and made ready (cleansed by Christ's blood) to come before the Father. Having come this far, one more thing must occur. You are given an immensely valuable gift that entitles you to all the treasures in the storehouse (Kingdom). I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. Proverbs 8:21 Take notice of the treasures in the Kingdom for they are forever, unlike the materialistic things of this world that will vanish. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21

For the first time in your life, you used your free will, chose wisely, and gave birth to the spirit person you were intended to be from the beginning of the foundation of creation. Now God has a gift sent from the Kingdom to live in your heart and guide your every thought, action, and desire. He will teach you all things of the Kingdom, He will protect and provide for your every need, and He will bring heavenly power into your life through your faithful prayers. There isn't anything that you cannot ask, that the Holy Spirit isn't capable of doing for you; after all, it is God doing these things for His beloved child.

It is important to understand the Trinity of God. God is the Father (first person), He is Christ (second person), and He is the Holy Ghost (third person). In your birth into the spirit realm, you now are the recipient of two-thirds of God; Christ's spirit intertwined with your spirit (birth) and the Holy Ghost sent to live in you to teach of the Kingdom principles, provide a means of communion with the Father, guide your ways, and answer your prayers. Only when you are risen from this world when Christ returns for His bride, does it get any better than this! You get to live with Christ and the Holy Spirit today! Your eternal life begins in Christ and continues on forever.

This becomes a whole new way of living when we include the Holy Spirit. If we think of Him as our best friend, our advocate before the Lord, and listen carefully to His instructions, there are so many splendid opportunities He grants to us. Our heavenly Father desires to give us wonderful gifts that benefit our earthen life, and all it requires is living within the Kingdom and accepting the principles therein to be our reference.

We are taught to listen with our heart (Holy Spirit) and not with our head (carnal thought). In doing so, we live in the spirit realm (Kingdom) as a spirit person for the Father and His Son. All things in the Kingdom become available to us, for it is the Father's desire to give His storehouse of treasures to His faithful children.

Jesus is speaking to His disciples, but His instructions are also meant for every believer today.

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself: but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore, said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. John 16:12-15
