                                       Father, Son, & Holy Ghost

                                                             Trinity of God

We understand the trinity as God the Father, the Son, and

the Holy Ghost. In our becoming a born-again person, we

accept God as the Creator of all things and who is our

heavenly Father. We also know of Jesus and the eternal life

He gave to us through His death. Little attention, however, is

given to the third-person of the Trinity, the Holy Ghost; and yet,

without the Holy Spirit nothing is possible from God for man.

Just as God had a divine purpose in coming to earth in Christ,

so has He a divine purpose in giving us the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus told His disciples that He would soon need to leave them, but that He would not leave them alone. He told them He would send a Comforter (Holy Ghost) to be with them at all times and to guide their ways. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. John 14:16 As it was then, it remains so today. In Christ, we are given the same Comforter to provide the very same benefits to us. When the Scriptures tell us that all things are possible to them that believe, it means that once a reborn child of the Father, it is through the third-person of the Trinity who makes all things of God possible. And yet, minimal thought is given to the Holy Ghost. Why is this? Why is He not spoken of more profoundly in our churches? Why isn't the Holy Spirit not recognized as an intricate aspect of our daily devotion to our heavenly Father?

It appears that our modern day doctrines are lacking in the teaching of the Holy Spirit. Perhaps, because they do not understand or accept His presence today. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. John 16:26-27 Some believe His presence was only for the disciples of Jesus' time. In believing this, these individuals are missing out on the many blessings and power that God gives to each of His born-again children. Once born into the spirit realm, into the Kingdom of Heaven, these magnificent and marvelous gifts are for today, and needed today, to continue the gospel of Christ through the specific talents and gifts that are given to each of us. Without accepting the Holy Spirit in our lives, and living under His tutorage, we are remiss in our faithful responsibilities to our Father.

If we say we are Christians, born-again believers, then we automatically have agreed to accept a covenant (contract) through Christ with the Father. God keeps His promises of this covenant and He expects us to keep our attention focused on the Kingdom. This is a learning process through the Holy Spirit and as we mature in our faith, we are given "works" to do and gifts (tools) to accomplish these assignments. Just as it was in the Old Testament when God had specific individuals to carry out His plans; today, He has plans for all His children to be good stewards for His purpose. It should be our number one priority to want to serve our King, for when we stand before Christ, our heavenly rewards will be great, our crowns many, and He will be well pleased with our earthen works.

God MUST be first in our life, and all else will be provided through the Holy Spirit. We should not forget we have a personal contract, a covenant, with God. We are to be desirous of fulfilling our duties to the Kingdom just as the disciples before us.
